About Me

Thirst for knowledge. Research everything I don't know about and promptly forget half. I like clothes I can't afford and always pick the odd piece of cutlery. This blog is an eclectic mix of everything fabulous from around the world and an assortment of my thoughts.

You’re Not Reading This By Accident

This is meant for you.

I wish you love. I wish you joy. I wish you happiness.

May you wake every morning looking forward to your day and put your head down every evening tired and satisfied.

Your life is too short to wonder what could have been. Instead, wonder, ‘What next?’

Be kind to the people around you and love them even when they make you mad.

Tip your servers and help them to have a better day.

Be gracious to the elderly.

Spread love.

Peace.

Oh Man

I want to be the girl in that picture.
Summertime, diving under big waves.
Feeling so small and breakable in the vastness of the ocean.
Letting the waves push your body around, feeling as light as a feather.
The quiet when you are underneath.
When no one can talk to you.
When no one can tell you what you dont want to hear.
No one can whine and be grumpy.
Its just you, your mind and water.
I want to feel the moment of panic when you try and surface too soon and think that you are going to run out of breath.
And then when you do come up, you look around and pant, nearly out of breath.
Then wait for the next wave and do it all again.

The man of your dreams

Thoughts from facebook

Well here we all are, at this point in time, at this particular spot in the universe, on this conveniently placed planet, doing what exactly? Amusing each other, with our own profound biological existence. Displaying our abilities, courting and procreating. Something fully sick better happen at the end of all this.

Trends

I’m so happy to not pay attention to trends because they are meaningless anyway. They are over fast.
As soon as you see them, as soon as you see people wearing them, they are over. That’s it.
As soon as you see it on someone, forget it.

Realism Sucks

"I don't want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic. I try to give that to people. I do misrepresent things. I don't tell truths. I tell what ought to be truth."

Rules

1.Never stop thinking. This is important. If someone ever says to you ‘You need to stop thinking so much,’ call them ignorant in your head and keep thinking deeper. It is this mentality that breeds stupidity and sheeple. Your mind is the most important tool you have, if you stop using it, it will atrophy. Question everything.

2. Stare into space blankly and don’t mentally punish yourself for doing it, even if it is for that split second. If you have a problem with staring blankly, think of it as daydreaming.

3. Root Beer sucks after having spicy food.

4. Everything is going to be just fine. If you worry about acne, you’re going to get a fucking pimple.

5. Don’t be afraid to talk about anything. You shouldn’t be afraid of reality.

6. Everyone is a hypocrite.

7. You are all original. Every life experience is case sensitive and unique. Every time you wake up or go to the bathroom or quote someone else, you are becoming more you than anyone has ever been.

8. Do pointless things. Don’t actively restrain or hide yourself from the redundant.

9. Stop rushing. Shut up and embrace the sound of silence.

10. Religion shouldn’t be taught, it should be found. No one should tell you what to believe except you. And while were on the subject…

11. Don’t be restrained by one religion. People change every moment of everyday. Minds grow and evolve. Religion has no law so feel free to mix and match. Make your own.

12. Going to the bathroom is not a right nor a privilege. it’s an act of nature.

58. Talking to yourself is healthy. Is there anyone that you have more in common with?

14. There is no such thing as time. The sun never sets or rises. Days and years don’t exist. There is only your life. Earlier today you were born and death is predicted later in the evening.

15. We will always be in a transitional phase. Look outside and know that everything will be replaced at some point. This existence is temporary.

16. Its not half empty or half full. Its half a glass.

17. Every now and then take something that you see everyday and try to see it in a different light. Renew its existence.

18. Be happy, but don’t force it.

19. You will always succeed in trying.

20. We are all crazy. Every person you read about in the history books had some kind of ‘disorder’, they just knew how to use it.

21. We are all about as similar as we are different.

22. Ideas are just as valuable as people. Why do you think we keep making people?

87. Numbers don’t have to go in order.

24. Words will always be just words. Love is just another four letter word, only the feeling is real.

25. Ask a child for advice. They may not know much, but they know what is important.

26. Prove you’re alive. Do anything from dancing in the supermarket to screaming ‘Fuck’ during a moment of silence. Remind the world you are still here.

27. Don’t take anything, even this, too seriously

This is Edie
And this list is from here. Isnt it fabulous?

Eskimo: "Then why did you tell me?"

Weird SBS Experience

Everyone has had at least one weird late night SBS experience.
I just had my second 'interesting' experience and now am going to go to bed.

A dress makes no sense unless it inspires men to want to take it off you.

The good ol' days

Now she looks like she is having some fun
-
I love these photos. The dresses and makeup inspire me. Women in those days seem so regal and elegant compared to the women of today. I feel like we should bring back the quality and beauty of vintage clothes. I want to start wearing gloves and hats again and doing my hair and makeup. There don't seem to be any sirens of the silver screen today. Sure there are beautiful women but they don't have the same feel and magnificence as the older ones. In those days apperance was vital. Hair was always done nicely, people wore hats and gloves and took summer vacations without relying on a mobile to catch up. There was actually conversation and interaction. Something that I am beginning to think is becoming increasingly rare. In modern times, and future times, will we ever need face to face communication? We have facebook now. And webcams. And all sorts of things that I probably don't even know about. Are people losing the ability to interact personally?

Manners seem to be lost as well as interpersonal communication. I rarely get a smile back or even a thank you for holding a door open. I never seem to hear people say 'thankyou' to the checkout chicks or ask 'how are you' back. I hear about the 'old-days' where people wrote thank you notes for presents which to me sounds so lovely.
Generally speaking, I find it amazing at the lack of awareness of some people regarding what is polite. I cannot remember the last time one of my friends has given a present to the host of an event, just as something to say thank you. I remember my parents receiving flowers or a bottle of wine from guests when they hosted a dinner or a party. I understand that my friends are students (as am I) but there are things that can just be put down to pure laziness. Not RSVP-ing to events, forgetting to buy a birthday gifts, not bringing a platter to a BBQ because it is too much effort, arriving without notice and staying well beyond what is normal... just to name a few!
Am I being too uptight and expecting too much from people?

Wow, this post turned into a rant about manners.. judging from this, it seems I am going to be a grumpy woman who complains about future generations.

The studs in my fantasy

I am in love with an inanimate object.
Kind of. Not seriously in love like that lady who tried to have sex with the Eiffel Tower... but still there is a feeling of love here!
With these gorgeous Wayne Cooper heels.
I found them in Myer over the weekend. The cost inspired me to work harder at uni so that one day I may just waltz through and buy whatever I please.
The reflective heel, mini built up platform, studded loveliness and womanly curves of the cut-out sides. The more you look at this wonder of a shoe, the more you notice. You begin to see all the work that would have been put into this shoe. Its like that with a lot of things.
The more you look at something, the more you see.

Love!

Wild Side

Untamed: wild: in a natural state; not tamed or domesticated or cultivated, an untamed area or place is in its original or natural state and has not been changed or affected by people.

I want people to describe me as untamed. When I think of someone who is 'untame' I think
nose ring
interesting tattoo
obscure taste in music (mostly Rastafarian)
money is not an objective
free of makeup
wild hair with highlights from the sun
a slight sprinkle of freckles
knowledge about the world
can play the acoustic guitar
woolen knits
flowing dresses
not chained to one place
free
peaceful
attracts animals naturally
can leave for anywhere tomorrow
loves adventure
no attachments
people are drawn to them
builds fires on the beach with equally amazing people

Oh how I wish for a life like this. Instead I have chosen to make university a priority instead of the universe. I have a material side that wouldn't want to leave my beautiful room filled with the things I love. I like Alexander McQueen and expensive clothes. Aspirations of career, mainstream family life, electronics and money. I love fashion magazines and Vogue. Being torn between these two world is playing havoc with my mind and soul. Did I really just write soul?

When I finish uni, I think I will finally just go off and have a belated teenage rebellious stage.

Sounds nice.

Love!

Nail me

How annoying would it be if one of the rhinestones fell off? I would scratch at the rest of them and ruin it.
But it still looks awesome. I have never had a manicure. I feel like Im missing out!

A Lovers Story

How amazing is the bed in the fifth photo? I just got a French provincial style bed from an auction in Adelaide. I am in love with it. At first I was a little creeped out that someone may have died in it. Now I am thinking more of the wonderful adventures that the previous owner may have had involving the bed. I have an image in my head of the person who had it before me. She is fabulous.
Hopefully some of her fabulous will rub off on me!
I shall try and take a photo of it and put it up so you can all see how amazing it is!

Love!
