About Me

My photo
Thirst for knowledge. Research everything I don't know about and promptly forget half. I like clothes I can't afford and always pick the odd piece of cutlery. This blog is an eclectic mix of everything fabulous from around the world and an assortment of my thoughts.

Perry Perry

I swear I nearly wizzed my pants when I saw the photos from the Alex Perry Ready-to-Wear show. They are just divine! The inspiration for the show seemed to be the amalgamation of the safari, princess and tailored looks. Super tailored jackets were present as were fabulously boned dresses. Sequins and beaded detail were everywhere along with full skirts and feathery detailing. Shape was 'in' with this show. The clothes were made to fit bodies of women with curvy bits which is a nice change. Beautiful tiered dresses were plenty, with colours being mainly black, white and nudes with some splashes of gold and burgundy. Perry seemed to be playing it safe this time round with nothing too bizarre to be seen aside from metres and metres of tulle. Safe but still fabulous!
I have just chosed my favourites to be featured here so its a bit of a biased showcasing of the different looks... but I'm sure you will be able to judge from these photos how great the show was! I was going to put a caption under my personal favourites but they are all so lovely. I might have to be super picky and just do a Top 5.

4# Love the lace overlay and extended sleeves
#5, 6&7: I just cannot bring myself to choose anyone of these as a favorite. I love most shiney things and these gorgeous gowns are just proof of that. The sleeves and mesh top of 5 attract me, as does the fabulous gold pattern. Once again I adore the rather ridgid, yet still girly, corset top of #6 paired with the wavey patterns. #7 reminds me of jazzed up cave-man drawings with an elegant twist.
#8, 9: If I were to be invited to an event that required formal attire, these would be the two gowns I would choose from. I would feel gorgeous wearing these stunning pieces which look like they were cut to emphasise the waist, something I am rather fond of!

I have already gone over my Top Five. I guess it was mean of me to make myself only pick 5 after I already searched through the entire show to find my favourites. I really wish I had a designer friend who liked to make clothes for me. That would be rather nice. I could claim that I am their muse. Anyone keen? It would suck if I finally found one (a clothes-designing and producing friend, that is) only to find they made clothes that totally didn’t match my style! For example, they specialised in fleece vests. Not so great!
Here are some close ups of the details in the clothes so that, if you have not already peed your pants from looking at the beauty of this show, you will get a wee bit (haha) excited over these;

So after looking at these photos, you are now as excited as I am!

Love x
